About The Role

Do you have a background in Artistic Swimming and want to help inspire the next generation of the sport? Does helping others to realise their potential excite you? We’re looking for keen Assistant Coaches to support taking our teams to the next level!

Swim England are looking to appoint up to five positions as Assistant Coaches to assist with coaching across all our squads from senior to youth.

Our ambition is to keep developing a world-class elite programme of Artistic Swimmers who achieve medal winning success on a global stage.

You will support the Lead Coach in delivering the periodised development plan, and this is also a developmental role for aspiring Lead Coaches of the future.

The role involves working directly with athletes under the direction of the National Coaches and Squad Lead Coach as well as specialist professionals to coach a team capable of competing at the highest level and achieving medal winning success now or in the future.

A deep passion and understanding of the sport is essential; along with a commitment to fostering a positive competitive environment for athletes eager to reach their full potential.

The Assistant Coach will develop and have individual knowledge of Artistic Swimming; providing individualised feedback to all as required.

Commitment requirement:

As Assistant Coach, you will support the Lead Coach with all aspects of training and development of the squad. As such, these roles vary in the time commitment and some may involve international travel. Location for domestic training will be at our High Performance Centre in Bristol at Hengrove Leisure Centre.

About You

In order to be shortlisted for the next stage in the process you must demonstrate within your application how you meet the following criteria:

We are looking for Coaches with experience and also a commitment to the principles outlined in the Optimal Coach Development Framework (OCDF) at the Performance Pathway and International Medal Winning Coach levels.

Essential

  • Proven experience of coaching AS at a high level (nationally/internationally)
  • A minimum of UKCC Assistant Coach course or the older level 1 certification in coaching AS
  • Have a clear understanding of the Artistic Swimming rules and judging system
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and an understanding and commitment to safeguarding (Wave Power), inclusion, and equal opportunities
  • An understanding of individual responsibility in complying with Health and Safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Lifesaving qualification/NRASTC (or willingness to acquire)
  • Swim England member
