About The Role

We are seeking someone with experience of managing and investigating cases, preparing legal bundles, and advocacy, to join our team in the role of Disciplinary Officer.

Reporting to the Director of Safe Aquatics and Welfare, this role will sit within the Safe Aquatics Directorate, a large and friendly team committed to Swim England’s goal of “trusted welfare and safeguarding. Although prior safeguarding experience may be helpful this is not essential, as the role is focused on preparing legal bundles, and occasionally advocacy at panel hearings, rather than the safeguarding investigations themselves. It will also include overseeing the complaints function, and investigating allegations of (non-safeguarding) serious misconduct. Key responsibilities include:

  • The preparation of formal “Judicial Complaints” relating to safeguarding concerns and serious misconduct following an investigation, to include a review of the case and preparation of evidence bundles for panel hearings.

  • Taking responsibility for Swim England’s complaints process.

  • Representing Swim England before any person, body or panel established under the Safeguarding or Judicial Regulations.

  • Working closely alongside the safeguarding and judicial teams with a mindset of continuous improvement to ensure Swim England’s disciplinary processes are fair, transparent, and efficient.
