About The Role

We are seeking a Talent, National Events and Learn to Swim Welfare Officer to join our team on a permanent full time basis. The role is 35 hours per week and will be home based with a requirement for regular travel to events and to work from our SportPark Office in Loughborough.

You will act as an indendent point of contact for all aquatic disciplines within talent, national events and learn to swim. You will be required to investigate welfare complaint within the talent programme, at national events and for Swim England swim school members. 

 
Your responsiblilities will include reporting and addressing issues and concerns through the correct channels and in accordance with Wavepower, in particular reporting all welfare and safeguarding concerns internally to the Swim England Safeguarding team.
 
You will also work closely with the national events team to ensure effective welfare and safeguarding practices across all national events and to provide both on and off site support as Welfare Officer for Swim England National events. You will also work closely with the Learn to Swim team to provide relevant welfare support to swim school members.
 
We are looking for someone with experience or knowlege of a performance environment in sport as well as experience of dealing with safeguarding and welfare concerns. You will have a strong commitment to enabling a positive welfare environment ensuring that our sports are a safe space for all.
 
You will be required to attend events or competitions regularly as well as visiting swim schools as required.

About You

 
In order to be shortlisted for the next stage in the process you must demonstrate within your application how you meet the following essential criteria:
 
  • Experience or knowledge of a performance environment in sport.
  • Experience of dealing with safeguarding or welfare concerns.
  • Proven ability to follow and apply policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across a diverse audience
  • Commitment to enablinga positive welfare environment ensuring that our sports are a safe space for all.
  • Ability to clearly summarize facts and findings in written form and make recommendations about behaviour and concern.

Role requirements

  • Attend events or competitions at the discretion and direction of Swim England.
  • Attend Learn to Swim Schools where required
  • Full driving license with ability to travel as required
  • Valid Enhanced (with barred list check) DBS check
