As the recognised national governing body for swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo in England, Swim England helps people learn how to swim, enjoy the water safely, and compete in all our sports.

Our Vision is to champion a healthy and successful nation through swimming and aquatic activity. The ability to swim is a life-skill that is essential to keep us safe in, on and around water. It is one of the nation’s most popular recreational activities enjoyed by millions of people in England.

About The Role

This is an exciting time to join Swim England in the role of Executive Assistant, supporting our CEO, Chair and Board by providing first class administrative support -  including management of emails, complex diary management, travel, meeting organisation and administration support. There will also be opportunity to support other CEO and Board projects where required.
 
This is a brand new and critical role, right at the heart of the organisation. As such we are looking for a proactive, highly motivated individual who has the ability to multi-task, prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines. 
 
A self-starter, they will be able to problem solve, anticipate requirements, looking after the detail to making things run smoothly at all times.   They will also be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
 
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build strong professional relationships, managing matters with discretion and diplomacy at all times.
 
We would particularly like to hear from those with a proven track record of providing high standards of executive support for senior teams. An interest in sport would be advantageous but is not essential for this position.
 
This is a part-time position, working 21 hours per week. We are flexible on the working pattern (over a minimum of four days), with a minimum of two days based at our Head Office at SportPark Loughborough. Some flexibility in hours will be required to accommodate organisational needs, such as board meetings. Please indicate your preferred working hours in your application.
 
 

About You

You don’t need to be able to swim to work with us, but a passion for the role that sport and physical activity can play in society would be advantageous!
 
In order to be shortlisted for the next stage in the process you must demonstrate within your application how you meet the following essential criteria:
  • Values led
  • Significant experience supporting senior roles in an administrative capacity
  • Highly organised and able to adopt a flexible approach
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, high-performance environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to influence others, solve problems and deal with situations in a professional and highly confidential manner
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Proven ability to handle data and produce reports.
  • Experience of producing meeting minutes and agendas with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Word packages.
  • Experience of running small projects, conferences or events.
Desirable
  •  Knowledge of sports governance and how boards operate.
